Русское сочетание "половина чего-либо" может передаваться беспредложным сочетанием half + существительеное или сочетанием half of + существительное: half his life или half of his life, half his drink или half of his drink. Форма глагола согласуется с существительным, следующим за словом half. Перед местоимениями употребляется только предложное сочетание half of it (them). С существительными меры употребляется беспредложное сочетание: half a mile, half an hourII [haːf] advнаполовину, неполностью, недостаточно, не доконца, полу-The glass was half full of milk. — Стакан был наполовину наполнен молоком.
